Recently, the International Boundless Dreams Come True Foundation (the “Foundation”), the Alliance’s founding father, has made a donation of RMB 1.5million to Jiangkou Secondary School (江口中學) in Fengkai County, Zhàoqìng City of China (肇慶市封開縣), for upgrading its school library. After the extensive upgrade, the library building will be named as “Dreams Come True Foundation Library” (夢想成真基金會圖書館).  The Alliance and the Foundation have a strong belief that education is of crucial importance for the future of the world, as well as helping to fight against poverty. Hence, we are committed in making donations for education propose and have continued in offering scholarship to students in need, in order to enhance the education standard of people in different parts of the world .

Jiangkou Secondary School is a famous and prestigious school in Jiangkou Town (江口鎮), Fengkai County in China, with over 40 years of history. There are over ten thousand students currently studying in the school. In October 2014, Mr. Mango Wong, Chairman of the Foundation and Executive President of the Alliance, conducted a site visit to the school and its four-level library building which has been established for 20 years, with Mr. 童海森, Deputy Chief of Fengkai County and Mr. 聶哲禮, Secretary of Education of Fengkai County.  There is a strong need for upgrading the library and enhancing its current facilities which are outdated and obsolete, and cannot meet the current education demand, particularly that the school is accommodating the education needs of such a large number of students at present.

The donation ceremony of the RMB 1.5million for the “Dreams Come True Foundation Library” was held on November 11, 2014 in Guangzhou, China. It was attended by Mr. Mango Wong, Chairman of the Foundation and Executive President of the Alliance; Mr. 何宏興, President of the Guangdong Province Charitable Foundation (廣東省僑界仁愛基金會); Mr. 黃志堅, Chairman of Zhàoqìng City Chinese Association (肇慶市僑聯) and Ms.  陳玉云, principal of Jiangkou Secondary School. An official agreement was signed by the four parties for such donation and Mr. Mango Wong presented a cheque to them.  The school principal, Ms. 陳玉云 expressed her deep appreciation and gratitude to the Foundation, and highly commented on the Foundation’s charitable work. All the four parties would maintain close cooperation in facilitating this library upgrade project.

During his speech, Mr. Mango Wong stressed on our commitment in enhancing education standard which would in turn help raise the living standard of the underprivileged. The donated amount will be used for upgrading the hardware of the library building in the school and its facilities, to meet the current education demand and better equip the students with the necessary facilities for pursuing education. Such donation would bring benefits to over ten thousand students currently studying in this school, and it also signified the milestone of the charitable works by the Foundation at its 10th anniversary.

Furthermore, Mr. Mango Wong was interviewed by the Guangdong Radio & Television Station after the donation ceremony, to elaborate on such donation and our commitment in contributing to the education development in different parts of the world.
